After a gap of nearly four years, actor Kanwalpreet Singh is set to return to television with Ghum Hui Yaadein. Known for his work in shows like Channa Mereya, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Rabb Se Sona Ishq, and Naadan Parindey, the actor is looking at this comeback as a fresh chapter in his journey.
Reflecting on his time away from TV, Kanwalpreet calls it a phase of survival and self-reflection. “It has been a roller coaster ride. I’ve been travelling to and fro to my hometown to make ends meet in Mumbai,” he shares candidly. “For survival, we have to work, so I did a few music videos there, which are yet to release.”
He also points out how television has evolved over the years, bringing new challenges for actors. “It is hard in TV now—budgets are slashed, and mostly I have to depend on characters with a Punjabi backdrop,” he says, addressing the issue of limited and typecast opportunities. “Overall, it has been a dull phase for me in TV, but still
lage hue hain for that ultimate role.”
Despite the struggles, Kanwalpreet remains grounded and optimistic about his craft. “As an actor, I always knew we would have to face this at some point, so no regrets,” he says, adding that patience and persistence are key to sustaining a career in the industry.
